Thank you for sharing this. I think flower essences are misunderstood. However I also think, like anything else, just because it comes from a plant doesn't mean it's benign. People need to be deeply in touch with their body needs and their holistic balance. And, even like herbs, I think it's best to at least get started with the support and guidance of a practitioner.

I love this article you've written about the Flower Essences.

I also love essential oils, but that's a topic for a separate study, as you mentioned in some comments.

I am familiar with the Flower Essences, and have used them successfully (for me and my pets) on occasion, but kind of "willy-nilly." I have wanted to learn more about them. I should probably take the one for overwhelm and calming the busyness, as that's what's kept me from diving deeper. lol

I thoroughly enjoyed this deeper dive into the subject. I'm intrigued.

I completely agree with you about the need to adopt a more holistic approach. And yes! We need to look at how life has evolved.

In addition to soil depletion and other accurate things you mentioned, life has evolved to now include loads of synthetic chemicals--into our food, beverages, and environment--including the garbage synthetic fragrances in so many of our body-care, clothes-care, and home-care products.

It seems the corporations are trying to sell us on poisoning ourselves, disguised as making everything "smell" nice. (And this, for me, is where I love essential oils--they mitigate much of this injury and madness.) The corporate world is trying to tell us, "You're nothing, a nobody, unless your who-who and your home smells like our synthetic spring meadows or tropical breezes!" It's crazy!

It's all upsetting the balances in our body, mind, and spirit.

It's all interconnected.

It's a "Yes, and. . ." answer--for the Essences and the holistic approach.

I am intrigued by the Flower Essences certification you are working through. I'd love to learn more about it.

Thanks for what you do and for writing about it here. I always enjoy your contributions.

Blessings!

Thank you for your indepth reply! I've also found the flower essences to be really helpful, and I plan on doing more posts about them. I love your comment: "It's a "Yes, and. . ." answer--for the Essences and the holistic approach." So very true, and a great way to look at the overall picture of our health, and the issues surrounding trying to stay healthy!

I don’t know a lot about the fragrances. I know lavender is soothing and when combined with peppermint on the temples does a pretty good job eliminating a headache.

When my dog had to have major hip surgery and wouldn’t eat or respond to us we assumed he was depressed from pain and being immobile. I started using a blend of lavender and frankincense. He took an interest in the scents and slowly began to respond to us.

Come to think of it, it was also winter time and outside scents were probably under 6 inches of snow.

Actually, you're thinking of Essential oils, which are used in aromatherapy. Flower essences are different, they're taken internally and have no scent at all.

Apparently I know nothing about them!! 😛

Haha, it's a common mistake and one I probably should have addressed in this first article. I will in the next one.
